Many TDL dogs are now service dogs to children with autism and veterans with PTSD. Gisele began parenting her blind wheelchair bound stepdaughter with Cerebral Palsy when Ashley was only 5 years old. As a proactive parent, she took her daughter to restaurants, beaches, resorts and theme parks. She advocated in schools at her daughters IEPS and advised other parents on how to get the services their children deserved. She recognized how strong of a role their boarder collie played in Ashley’s life. Ashley is now a healthy 30-year-old living in an assisted family group home.
With her deep understanding and passion for people with disabilities and service dogs, Gisele offers her insights to Disability Smart Solutions and our customers and an ADA expert from the consumer point of view.
